Roomate party

The annual College Roomate party was held as usual on the first Friday in December at DeAnn's home. It was great to see everyone and catch up a little on our lives. DeAnn fed us what she called "comfort foods" of carrots, baked beans, glazed rolls, christmas jello salad, and bar-b-qued boneless ribs. It was a great meal with yummie berry tarts served for dessert later. She had given a donation to breast cancer in each of our names, and we all recieved a card with a nail file and nail stickers. The gifts were wonderful, as always, and I received a beautifully stitched Christmas pillow from Norine, along with some great stocking stuffers of snowmen, gift tags, metal signs, and peanut M & M's.

Updates: Jane has one daughter married, is still working at Zion's bank and where they are feeling the economic downturn in their retirement plans. DeAnn has a cute grandson and continues to work for Ogden City. Leasa works in the surgical center and her son Josh is quite the thespian in the school plays. She recently lost her father. Noriene also recently lost her mother and her father is already gone, so she says she feels like an orphan now. Her son recently was married and she continues to work at Davis North Hospital. Janet, who lives in Delta, works part time at the Delta hospital. Her oldest son is just finishing paramedic training and her daughter Monica accompanied her to the party, though she hung out in the bedroom, away from us "old fogies". Ann, who lives in Idaho Falls, has a daugher married and her husband is working in New Mexico, coming home every three weeks. This is just another example of the economics we are all living with. Kathy works part time at the Surgical center in Ogden and her oldest daughter is going to school in Orem on a sports scholarship. It is always nice to get together and remember what our lives were like before we were married. It seems like yesterday at times, and at other times so long ago.
