Mother's Day

My Mother...isn't she beautiful!

What a nice Mother's day weekend.  We are so lucky that we get to join in for the Robert's annual Mother's day  brunch that they have each year the Saturday morning before Mother's day.  Texie and her mother have been great about including all of our family and even invited Jacob's fiancĂ©e, Krista and her Mom.  It was held at Granny Annie's in Kaysville and they have some of the yummiest scones!  Texie honored me with a beautiful corsage that I received complements on all day long and again on Sunday.  (Thanks again Texie!) I had to give shots in the morning and came from the upper road and got lost getting there, but it was sure worth it.  They also had a fun craft as usual where we made a broach or hair bow.  Aunt Effie joined us and then I took Mom and her to visit there mother's grave to put flowers out.

Saturday night we had a High Priests dinner at the West Warren Bowery and it was also lots of fun.  They had live Western music and also Cowboy Poetry from two local talented men.  After the show the Cowboy Poet came up and said, "Hi, Doc...I'm one of your patients!"  Umm...awkward since I didn't remember seeing him before.  I think I had only seen him once and he talked about that he needs to come by again.  Even if people look familiar I never mention where I know them from, unless they bring it up first like this.  Nice guy and very talented, along with the singer who actually is a singing minister from the Canyon Assembly of God.  (He lives in our ward though.)

Garrett, and family along with Cathy Lin were at our house when we came home.  Garrett's family gave me some beautiful fresh flowers too.  They helped as I prepared some of the food for Mother's Day dinner on Sunday.  Gary fixed a yummy breakfast (and also gave me chocolate covered strawberries) and then we went to Church where we heard from some SME's (Subject Matter Experts) ie. seasoned mothers who spoke about mothers.  This was followed by Lance Kelson who coined the term of SME's...related to his work.  He also did a great job talking about mothers who are not perfect...but perfect for the children they raise and circumstances they are in.  After teaching my lesson then we came home for a yummy dinner with Caden and family, Jacob, Mom & Dad, and the others.  Later I had a call from Katrina to wish me a happy mothers day.  Great day!

Easter

The Saturday before Easter began with a yummie breakfast at the Park and then a Easter Egg hunt to follow.  We then warmed up a bit and then went for another hunt in Grandma & Grandpa's back yard.  Aunt Katrina helped to put out the eggs.  The end result was way too much candy for the kids, but lots of fun!
Above is Caden & Kam.

 Garrett, JoAnne, and Family.
It was pretty comical because Kam was good with just a few eggs, especially after he opened one up and started eating the candy.  He then would pick up the eggs and run over to drop them into William's basket.  After Will had walked away he just started throwing the ones out of his basket unto the ground as seen below.  At least he was good about sharing and worrying about his cousins.
After Kam had another piece of Candy in his mouth he started to play in the dirt with his egg parts.
Here you can see the full bucket that Emily had and also William.  Grandma Zola had also given them "goodie" bags with blow up bunnies, stickers, and other fun.
